We Sell Restaurants Outpaces the Restaurant for Sale Market by 25 Points in 2022

The count of restaurants sold across America in 2022 grew 20% over the prior year according to BizBuySell’s Quarterly Insight Report, a nationally recognized economic indicator that tracks the health of the U.S. small business economy.

We Sell Restaurants outperformed the national results by a significant margin, ending the year ahead 45.4% in transactions or more than 25 percentage points ahead of the national average. The performance was the best in the brand's history spanning two decades of selling more restaurants than anyone else, and leading to their position as the nation's leading and only business broker franchise focused on restaurants

The year started with a bang and ended softly for all restaurant sales nationwide. This could be the impact of rising interest rates which has affected some lending for the sector. For the only business brokerage brand focused solely on restaurants, however, each quarter  outperformed the results reported by the industry's only public data available on the count of restaurants sold, BizBuySell's Quarterly Insight Report.

Those wondering about the overall health of the industry and whether now is the right time to sell should be buoyed by the reported results. Not only did restaurant sales nationwide end up 22 percent ahead of last year; they significantly outperformed the overall business for sale marketplace.  This embedded graphic shows the results of We Sell Restaurants against all business sales as well as compared to restaurants ales nationwide. All small business sales dropped into negative territory for the third and fourth quarter while restaurants stayed positive.

The cutting edge restaurant brokerage brand, We Sell Restaurants, attributes is success to the strength of a well-trained corporate team, a culture around creating a customer service experience worth sharing and Certified Restaurant Brokers who have tested and qualify to be listed among an elite group. The use of technology is also critical for the practice and their approach allows them to work quickly and efficiently with clients, helping them find and purchase a restaurant with full integrated resources from their proprietary platform.

Eric Gagnon, President of We Sell Restaurants said, "We Sell Restaurants hit it out of the park last year, growing our units sold by 45.4% and doubling the dollar value of all restaurants sold. At the same time, the brand also doubled our number of franchisees. Many of those new players have not yet begun contributing to these stellar results."
