Buying a Restaurant, Buying a Job. Entreprenuership is on the Rise

Atlanta Restaurant Brokers Eric and Robin Gagnon talk about the current economy and how it is affecting individuals that want to buy and sell a restaurant.  They returned from a trip to North Carolina where they serve on a Board for the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies.  Since one in five graduates can find a job, Entrepreneurship as a major field of study is on the rise.  Meanwhile those out of work are turning to the restaurant industry to buy their next job.

It is more common than ever to have someone seeking to buy a restaurant when they have been out of work for a period of time. In the past, our restaurant buyers were spread among categories like retirees ready for a new adventure in life or someone from corporate America that wasn't downsized but wanted the control of a business of their own. Some buyers have backgrounds or experience in the restaurant industry working for someone else. Some just have a dream about owning a restaurant and love the food industry.

Many Restaurant Managers or Chefs want control and freedom in their own business. They seek unlimited opportunity and income levels that reflect their level of participation as an owner.
